Hyperledger is an umbrella project of the Linux Foundation to promote open source innovations in the field of blockchain. The driving forces behind Hyperledger include IBM and Intel, as well as Fujitsu, Oracle, SAP, VMware, Cisco, and Samsung.
Hyperledger's "umbrella strategy" incubates and promotes a range of business blockchain technologies, frameworks, libraries, interfaces and applications. However, the Hyperledger project neither favors a particular block chain nor promotes a particular code base. Instead, the goal is to support and guide the global developer community in exploring the true potential of block-chain technology through the open exchange of ideas and joint implementation of practical block-chain implementations.
